November 18th Lucas actual 2nd birthday party (For the Nanna's)

Lou and I had stayed up late the night before Lucas' 2nd birthday preparing for the 18 people coming. Lucas woke up at 11pm that night coughing, he couldn't get himself back to sleep and he kept calling out to us. We were madly rushing around doing our jobs and consoling Lucas every 10min....(Arghh exhausting) Great now he would be tired for his birthday.

November 16th Lucas 2nd birthday party with his V.B.C group

Lucas had a practise birthday party with all his V.B.C group buddies. I was going to make a train cake and put blue coloured icing on it like Lucas' favourite character Thomas the tank engine, but I had no luck finding blue food colouring in Vienna. Anyone would of thought that I was trying to obtain illegal drugs the way the Austrians looked at me in disapproval when I asked for it. At one department store that I went to the manger sternly said to me "We do not colour our food"........Honestly they are are so backwards at times.

Lucas loved his cake. I had to make the train brown...ok I was probably more shattered about that than Lucas was. Ok Lucas didn't even care that the train wasn't blue and he still called it Thomas. When all the kids arrived Lucas, Kaya and Georgia sat themselves up at the table in arms reach of the cake...biscuits etc and proceeded to stuff themselves silly. We told them that not to touch the cake yet as not everyone had arrived and I wanted to take a photo of it.

I went away for 5 minutes and when I came back the 3 of them were looking very sheepish with chocolate stained faces. They had stripped the cake of most of it's smarties. We re loaded the cake with smarties, took and took a photo before it was stripped again.

Oh dear the nice play ended. I think Lucas off second best in a fight with Kaya. He should know by know no to mess with Kaya as she's a tough nut.
