Lucas' 3rd birthday...party 4

Lucas and Lou decorated birthday cake number 5. It seemed a bit of a joke to be making another cake but we had invited everyone around again the following Sunday after the cancelled party. We were wondering if Lucas' birthday celebrations were ever going to end, mind you there were no complaints from Lucas he was loving it. We were having a party so we had to have a cake so here is birthday cake number 5, it was quickest made cake of them all and I think it's not bad. Here is everyone lined up to watch the professional blow out his candles.

Seb and Zoe
Stella picking a winner! Nice one Stella.
Remy and her Superman Luke!
Remy cooking and eating Cheerios's
Kaya and Zoe (best friends)
Lucas' mate William
Our new friend Gabbie
Lucas, Liam and William the screamers, as toddlers they are nightmare for their mothers but I'm sure they will be lovely teenagers and winners with the chicks.
Ally and Kim chilling out on the couch in the kids room the place looked as thought a bomb had hit it. The kids all had had a great time.
While we were tidying up we left the kids in front of the T.V. as they were exhausted and we came back in 5 mins and Remy had fallen asleep on the floor. Cute! Lucas wanted to wake her up but he manage to control his urge too phew! Ok that's it for Lucas' birthday now lets start Christmas celebrations

Lucas' new bike

I didn't get a bike until I was 5 and Lou didn't get a bike until he was 7 so we didn't really think a 3 year old should get a bike. He really wanted a scooter as he rides one at kinder but we thought he was too little for a scooter as well. Over here in Vienna all the little kids from two years onwards ride "laufen fahrad" in English running bike. The Germans came up with the idea, they are a little bike with out pedals. Anyway we got one and he loves it.
It wasn't long before he was zooming around the apartment on it.
Remy got a Bobby car on the same day (An early Christmas present as we will be in Australia for Christmas) Bobby cars are Germans as well they are great little cars. I the car for Remy as Lucas wouldn't share his car with Remy. Lucas now steals Remy's new car and leaves her with his old one, I realise as a parent you never win these types of situations.
It was peaceful for 10 Min's and then of course they started fighting....Lucas ran his bike into Remy's car as she was on his circuit track of the apartment. Remy who doesn't put up with his bossiness these days just shoved him back and refused to move. Brother and sisterly love!

The sickies.

The sickies laying down in front of the T.V. I love this photo it's so cute but it doesn't represent the moment. 5 minutes before hand Remy was screaming her head off as she has a middle ear infection too. The both haven't eaten or slept for nearly a week they are miserable and tired. T.V is my friend at the moment.

Lucas' 3rd birthday...party 3 disaster strikes

Well today was supposed to be Lucas' birthday with our close friends that live in our area. Lou and I stayed up late cleaning the apartment and making 3 quiches, and 2 cakes etc. Lucas started coughing when we put him to bed, he had had a nasty cold for nearly a week now so w thought it was finally lifting. By midnight we were getting concerned as the poor kid was still coughing and hadn't had much sleep. We tried everything to settle the cough but he couldn't stop coughing. By 2am we rang a mobile doctor to come out. They said that we would have to wait 2 hours for one to come. We didn't want to go out in the cold to the hospital so we waited. The doctor arrived at 3am we still hadn't been to bed. By now Remy was awake and we had to move her to our room to settle her but we had no luck, so everyone was up to greet the doctor.
The doctor said he had Laryngitis and a middle ear infection, the poor little guy. They gave him something to sleep and by 4am we finally got everyone to sleep. Arghhh but the party would have to be cancelled. Everyone was due at 9:30 so we would have to get up at 8am at least to tell everyone not to come.
Below is his 3rd birthday cake which I spent and hour on which was now just a show piece for us at home with the party being cancelled.
Lucas was a little up set that the kids could come so I got him to decorate the second cake (which was birthday cake number 4). He and Remy ate most of the lollies before they got to the cake which was great as they wouldn't eat breakfast but they'd eat the lollies.
Then of course we had to light the candle, Lucas was becoming professional at blowing out candles by now.Next we had to light the candles on the car cake.

I gave Remy a candle to blow out and she was wrapped!
Then she tried to take the candle off me, but eventually she blew out the candle.

Lucas' 3rd birthday...party 2.

Day 2 of Lucas' 3rd birthday with his English speaking V.B.C. babies group, not that they are babies any more. The cake which was a 3 second throw together was lucky to make the lighting of the candle as little fingers kept on stealing the smarties. The birthday boy getting ready for his second attempt to blow 3 candles out, can he do it?

Ok here is a photo of Mum, I think she needs some more sleep!
The gang!
The gang and Lucas' new cheesy smile.
Remy thought Lucas' party was great as she got to sit at the table like one of the big kids and eat a whole piece of chocolate cake....(Well which was lunch for Remy!)
Remy picked a little boy's lightening McQueen hat and put it on her head backwards then got on the car. Very cool Remy!
Remy was checking out baby Ellie, Kaya's little sister. Ellie was lucky as Remy didn't try to poke her eyes out as most toddlers try to do to babies. Instead she just gave her a cuddle.

Lucas' 3rd birthday...making the 2nd birthday cake for day 2.

I had to make another birthday cake for Lucas birthday party number 2 with his VBC. English speaking little friends which was at our house. The kids loved helping me make the chocolate cake. Little eager hands were into every thing. Lucas was in control of the speed control dial on the mix master which was scary as Remy kept on trying to put her hands in the bowl as it was whizzing around. I must admit I was impressed as he listened to me and carefully turned the dial on and off when I said. He was very helpful with the cleaning up as well!
Remy was covered in cake mix by the time the cake was ready for the oven. She thought it was great that there was a massive bowl of delicious chocolate cake mix sitting in front of her that she could dip her finger in again and again.

I gave the kids a beater each to lick to keep there fingers out of the bowl.
Of course the spoon needed cleaning as well. Gee that was fun Mum can we do it again!
Ok time for a bath now!

Lucas' 3rd birthday at home and party 1 at kinder

Wow, I can't believe Lucas is 3 already, how time flies. Now he's the boss of the house and telling me to sit in the corner. No Lucas does not wear his Spiderman suit to bed he just insisted on putting it on as soon as he woke up on the morning of his birthday, but he'd like to wear it to bed. We got him a cheap and nasty guitar that makes a hideous noise. We did look at each other when we were buying it saying that it could be a little loud and painful but we bought it anyway. It lasted 10Min's before it was put on the high shelf to have a rest. He loves it.
Daddy rocker!
We are required to supply a cake for Lucas' class of 24 kids on the day of his birthday. The cake was not allowed to be home baked, it had to be bought from a bakery. This drove me insane as I love making birthday cakes. Lucas' friend Skye's Mum bought in 2 small cakes for Skye's birthday back in September and was told off that they weren't big enough to feed 24 kids. So the pressure was on me to get the right cake. I finally found out a bakery that was approved and I ordered a large chocolate cake big enough for 24 kids. In German this massive word "Schokoladengeburtstagkuchen" means chocolate birthday cake in German. Germans words still scare me, why do they have to join all the words together? Any way the man at the bakery said that will be 45 Euros, I nearly died thinking it's not his 21st birthday cake it's only his 3rd. Anyway I didn't want to rock the boat at the kinder so I ordered the cake.
The guy actually did a fantastic job, Lucas asked for a race track and this is what we got. Lucas supplied the cars.
The kindergarten teachers were impressed and I think we got a gold star! Well you'd want to for 45 Euros. This Lucas and his teacher Ushi putting his birthday crown on. His girl friend Skye is the blond standing on his left.
Lucas got a Mac Queen back pack from Auntie Merrily & Uncle Hugh and the boys which was a big hit. Thanks guys.

We got him a dodgy car park that has trouble staying together, arghhhh and it looked so good in the box!
His fireman Sam fire engine was a hit thanks Nanna, it was taken to bed with him. After a big day it was time for bed. Tomorrow is the next party with his English speaking group friends I had better start baking a cake. Arghhhhh!

Remy

Well now at 17 months Remy certainly doesn't let you boss her around. She has started to talk a lot, lately we have heard "No" a lot.

The other morning she was being very quiet in the kitchen and then I heard her say ...."Oh dear" I walked in to find Remy standing in a pile of cereal as she had tipped the whole box on the floor.

We are trying to teach Lucas to say thank you but Remy seems to be learning to say it quicker than Lucas.

Remy has had 4 teeth for a long time, we were starting to wonder if the other teeth were ever going to come and now she has another 2 teeth up the top and 2 molars. We had a few weeks of Remy sitting up half the night. One night I went to bed at 12:15 am only to be woken by her at 1:15am and she was up until 4:15am ...Then Lucas woke at 6am. When she wakes up at night she doesn't cry she just lies in bed talking to herself, she goes on for hours...blah...blah...blah. It's kind of cute.

Remy is the oldest in her baby group and she leads the others a stray. Here Oscar and Remy have been caught pulling the Cd's off the shelf. When I asked Remy to come over to me she said...you guessed it...."no" and ran into the corner.

Remy likes playing Erica who is the youngest in our group, but each week I notice Remy goes to see what she is doing. Poor Erica I'm not sure that she is please with Remy's attention as Remy always takes what Erica has in her hand saying "Mine". Erica screams and cries in protest. The mothers resolve the issues and then five minutes later Remy steals another toy off poor Erica.

I love Erica's expression she's really pissed off with Remy.

Lucas

I never realised how hard it is for a toddler to hold 3 fingers up. I tried for at least 10mins to get Lucas to hold up 3 fingers but the rest of his fingers automatically sprang up to. So we took the easy option and put up one finger.

Because Lucas hadn't had a nap and he had been running around for 2 hours in the park he was a little delirious and he lost the plot and started laughing hysterically at the whole finger holding up process.

I think Mummy's a bit funny!

And he giggled.....

Every morning I pack morning tea for him to take to kinder. This morning Lucas packed his own morning tea.

2 cars and a half eaten piece of bread.

Very helpful.
