Windsor Castle

I must admit I went to Windsor Castle for my parents thinking that it would be average. I was pleasantly surprised, the rooms in the castle are well maintained and something to be proud of.

Marg and Nev in front of the court yard.

Nev actually managed to work his Audio device.

I was a bit shocked to see a woman as the Queens guard. Call me old fashioned but I like my guards to be men, she did do her job well though as she didn't smile once.

I took this photo for my mother as this pub had amazing amount of hanging baskets.

Battersea childrens zoo with Nanna and Pa

I took Nanna, Pa and the kids to the Battersea Childrens farm, well I tried. It was supposed to be a 35min trip and I turned it into a 1hr and 15min saga. Nothing has changed I'm still terrible with maps and directions and now everything is in English.
Lucas got a lesson from Pa about all the animals. He was quite interested.

Remy on the other hand demanded that she wanted to go in the yard and hop on the Donkey.
Poor Nanna was left to explain why she couldn't go in to see the donkey.

Pa was desparate for Lucas to get on the red tractor so he could take a photo but he wouldn't so he got a photo of Remy on the tractor and even she didn't want to stay on it long. They were more interested in the fire engine. Oh well they are city kids, and they love Fireman Sam.

The play ground was quite good at the zoo and we had trouble getting the kids away from it to and go over and see the animals.

Paul and Zoe came to visit.

Paul Lou's cousin and Remy's god father and his wife Zoe came to stay for a couple of days. The kids adored them, and we enjoyed taking them out for dinner at the pub. Although Zoe's stories about her home town in South Africa where really sad. It was a real awakening for us to hear from a local about the tragic situation over there.

Paul showed Lucas how to do the "Claw".

Remy adored Zoe.

Zoe and Paul packed and ready to go catch their plane to Africa.

Day trip around Edinburgh

We took a tour around Edinburgh on the "Hope on and off bus" which was a great idea as we were all a little tired to walk around and Lou was wounded.

I love it the flowers in the hanging baskets match the shop.

Lucas the tour guide.

Yes that's the castle we were too lazy to go visit it so that the best shot I got of it while traveling on the "On again off again bus".

We were all a little bit tired it had been a big weekend.

To Edinburgh for Love

My Cousin Mark who has been living in Scotland for 10 years finally asked his gorgeous Scottish girl friend Rachel to marry him and they were married the other weekend. It was a beautiful wedding the couple looked stunning, the setting was breath taking, the kilts were everywhere, hats were on, the weather was fabulous and the sun was out out. In fact the weather was so fabulous that I kept on having to pinch myself to remind me that I was in Edinburgh. Everyone said the Aussies had brought the good weather with them and think they were right.

Here are the representives of the Keam family heading off for the wedding. Sorry my photos aren't very good quality I accidentally had the photo quality on a low setting.
Here is Mr and Mrs Livingston!!
Paige and Jack kept us entertained with there innocent funny little comments during the service.

The bride and groom and proud parents.

Uncle John and princess Paige

The kids at the wedding, I caught them having a chat behind the tree.

At one stage in the afternoon a soccer ball appeared and all of a sudden a soccer game (football the Brits say) started. It was the Scott's against the Aussies mind you the Aussies had a few Scott's to help out the numbers and we still lost. Lou started off really well scoring a goal then he had to be put out to pasture when he pulled he calf muscle and had to be sent off for ice. It was so funny to see the guys running around in their kilts playing soccer, even the bride got on the field at one stage. Shortly after the ball was confiscated by the ground staff and everyone was sent back to the party.

Off we go to Edinburgh

We had an early start to catch our train to Edinburgh the four hour train trip went quickly with only one melt down from Remy and here we are 4hrs later looking very weary at the Edinburgh train station.

After we arrived at the Edinburgh train station we picked up a hire car and drove 45mins to Berwick North where we were staying. We only realised when we went past Berwick on the train that we could of in fact taken the train to North Berwick instead of going all the way to Edinburgh. Arghhhh traveling it's always a test of your patience.

Below is the MacDonald Marine hotel which we stayed at. I decided that it's a get away hotel for bloke as it's a golfers heaven and the rooms are simple providing no chick stuff like hair driers.
The hotel was right on the beach and the view was magnificent though.

Down on the beach in front of the hotel.

Before the pre wedding dinner which was at the hotel we had a few drinks in the lounge and Lou and I experience a moment when Lucas and Remy behaved delightfully for us. It was lovely I was sitting on a couch looking out to the sea having a drink while the kids sat next to us sipping their drinks quietly. Yippee they are growing up!

Mr. Good Boy!

Captain Black Moustache Mc Lucas

Lucas went to his 2nd 4 year old birthday party in London the other week. It was a little girl call Jamie's birthday party, she invited 20 kids and requested for everyone to dress up. As I expected all the girls dressed up as princesses and fairies and hardly any of the boys dressed up. Oh well Lucas was excited about wearing his pirate outfit and the chicks thought he looked good. At the party they an talented face painter who painted all the kids faces, she did a brilliant job of Lucas face.
